Macmillan Cancer Support and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board are about to embark on an ambitious partnership project to improve services for people in North Wales with cancer.

The project will be working closely with cancer patients and their families and carers to understand their needs and expectations, and with those involved in providing their care and support, including health professionals, social workers and volunteers working in primary (GP) care, hospitals and specialist services, hospices and the voluntary sector.

Innovative, vibrant and engaging communication will play a central role in securing the enthusiastic involvement of those who can contribute to this programme. The Project Board therefore wishes to appoint a dedicated communications professional to plan and deliver a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy and action plan to support this work, using social, print and broadcast media and other communications channels to support and promote the intentions and progress of the project, working on brand and producing communications and marketing materials to ensure effective and consistent messaging.

The post holder will work as part of, and be based with the project team, and will be aligned to the Health Board’s own Communications Team for professional and collegial support.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post
