Do you have a passion for working with adults with a wide range communication and swallowing disorders in a variety of settings? Would you like to be part of a dynamic and evolving speech and language therapy service? Do you have a strong commitment to CPD and evidence based practice? If so, the Adult Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service at BCUHB East in beautiful North Wales may be just what you are looking for.

We have an exciting opportunity to welcome a motivated and forward thinking band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, who has specialist skills working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. The successful candidate will provide SLT services across acute and community settings. There will be opportunities to focus on stroke,  progressive neurological conditions including dementia or voice. The successful candidate will provide person centred assessment and treatment of complex communication and swallowing needs, to reduce associated risks. This may involve training and enabling others to support the individual to reach their full potential.

There is a wide range of expertise and experience within the friendly and supportive BCUHB S&LT team for adult services based in Wrexham. You will work with, and be supported by, highly specialist band 7 S&LT’s as well as other band 6 and 5 colleagues and Technical Instructors. The team carry out regular therapist-led and MDT clinics including FEES, Videofluoroscopy, Joint Voice Clinics, Parkinson's Clinics and MND MDT meetings.

You will need to be able to work flexibly to respond to service developments and needs, be fully dysphagia competent and able to manage a caseload independently. Clinical supervision is actively encouraged and there are regular CPD opportunities. This position will provide not only clinical variety but also the opportunity for personal, service and staff development.
