LOCUM CONSULTANT PHYSICIAN WITH AN INTEREST IN RESPIRATORY AND GENERAL MEDICINE (pending substantive appointment)

Applications are invited for this 10 or 11 session new post based at the Wrexham Maelor District General Hospital – pending a substantive appointment. The appointee will join six respiratory colleagues. The post has arisen from a need to reconfigure and strengthen our existing services. We are particularly seeking to strengthen our existing services in Domiciliary NIV & Sleep Medicine, or Lung Cancer & Interventional Pulmonology. Expertise in these areas, which are already well developed in Wrexham, would be particularly welcome. However, other interests would also be considered. The GIM component would involve work on the respiratory ward for any GIM in-patients, with an on call commitment of approximately 1 in 24. For the locum post we would be open to discussion about specialty interests, clinical responsibilities and working patterns, i.e. ward work and outpatient responsibilities.

The Hospital is superbly located in North Wales, with its areas of outstanding natural beauty, and within easy reach of Chester, Liverpool & Manchester.

You are required to be on the Specialist Register, have CCST’s in respiratory and GIM or recognised equivalent or be within 6 months of obtaining it at the time of interview.

In view of recent changes to Home Office Immigration Regulations all applicants must state their current immigration status, including expiry dates.

BCUHB is committed to providing equal opportunities in employment.

This post is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Records Bureau check being made.
