Registered Mental Health and Learning Disability Nurses

 We have vacancies for Registered Nurses (Mental Health or Learning Disability) within HMP Berwyn. We have full and part time hours available and we support family friendly, and other flexible hours.

We offer excellent learning and development opportunities, as we want to support you in your career and give you options to progress across our range of Mental Health and Learning Disability services.

For our HMP Berwyn roles, this will be an experience like no other, requiring a mix of nursing skills from a range of professional specialist areas, such as Community Outreach, Liaison and Forensic Services. We are now looking to expand our provision of community nursing within the prison to provide a seven-day service. This is a unique opportunity to complement our existing, integrated Health and Wellbeing Team.

  • Rotation to develop and enhance your clinical experiences and support your chosen career pathway.
  • An established clearly defined structured Mental Health and Learning Disability Team, which includes full time consultant psychiatrists and a team of clinical psychologists.
  • We will provide the opportunity to become a specialist in prison Mental Health Nursing and be involved in cutting edge care and support. Flexible working options to enable you to achieve a great work-life balance.
  • Financial support to help you relocate to North Wales is available (if appropriate).
  • If you do not wish to be committed to a permanent post, we can also offer the option of joining our Nursing & Midwifery Bank, which gives you the choice of flexible shifts and hours to suit your needs.
  • If you are not currently working as a registered nurse, but wish to return to practice we can offer you a three month part time Return to Practice Course to make the transition.

 And when you are not working, you can roam the mountains of Snowdonia, surf off the beaches of Anglesey, or browse the shops in nearby Chester. Liverpool and Manchester airports are nearby too.
