Opportunities in North Wales Community Dental Service
We are seeking to recruit to a number of permanent and fixed term posts.
North Wales Community Dental Service is a large service employing just over 200 staff. Ten of our dentists are on one or more of the GDC Specialist lists with five additional dentists having Masters Degrees and two Dentists have gained DwSI/DES status. We are committed to continuing education and are proud of our successes in supporting staff in achieving postgraduate qualifications. We currently have an additional three Dentists on Masters Courses.
We provide specialist /specialised services in a number of areas including:
Special Care Dentistry; Paediatric Dentistry; Sedation (Inhalation and Intravenous); General Anaesthesia; Oral Surgery; Domiciliary care; Latex Allergy; Orthodontics and provide support to the Head and Neck MDT.
We are committed to expanding our skill mix models and are involved in a number of training initiatives for dentists and DCPs including Dental Outreach training for final year dental students; DCT(1)s; Specialist Registrar in Special Care Dentistry; Dental Therapist courses (Direct Access, Inhalation Sedation, Dental Radiography); Dental Nurses courses (pre and post registration).
A number of preventive programmes also operate across north Wales: Designed to Smile (an all-Wales Programme targeting children living in the most deprived areas of Wales); Care Home Programme; Mouth Care in Hospitals; Child and Adult Learning Disability Programmes.
We also operate a CDS/PDS (salaried GDS) service.

This part time Band A Dental Officer post will be based in an eight surgery CDS dental facility.
