BETSI CADWALADR UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD (WEST)

CONSULTANT UROLOGY SURGEONS WITH AN INTEREST IN UPPER TRACT LAPAROSCOPY & PELVIC ONCOLOGY SURGERY X 2

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board wishes to appoint two Consultant Urology Surgeons with an interest in Upper Tract Laparoscopy & Pelvic Oncology Surgery for the patients of North Wales. We wish to further strengthen our urology team to provide excellent care to the population of North Wales and the service provided at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Ysbyty Gwynedd is the established North Wales Centre for Gynaecology Oncology Surgery. The Health Board wishes to develop a Complex Pelvic Cancer Centre at the hospital in collaboration with other specialties and in order to achieve that we want expand our Urological Pelvic Oncology. In addition, we are after a motivated Surgeon who will lead in Upper Tract Laparoscopy within BCUH. . Both of these goals will be enhanced through the imminent development of Robotic Assisted Surgery.

We will welcome candidates with subspecialty interests in Laparoscopic/Robotic upper tract & pelvic oncological surgery and we are keen to discuss your requirements.

Working with excellent colleagues in Urology Services, this is a great opportunity to work in a progressive department.

Our offer will include:

    • Appointment to the appropriate scale of the amended Welsh Consultant Contract with a current salary range of £79,860 - £107,668 per annum.
    • Eligibility for Consultant ‘Commitment Awards’ up to a maximum of £24,410 per annum.
    • Working with an excellent North Wales Urology Multi-Disciplinary Team
    • A commitment to teaching, education research and audit with partnering organisations
    • Support provided to add clinical leadership to the role to support clinical governance across the North Wales Urology Service
    • The Hospital is superbly located in North Wales, with its areas of outstanding natural beauty, and within easy reach of Chester, Liverpool and Manchester

You will be on the Specialist Register, have CCST’s or recognised equivalent or be within 6 months of obtaining it at the time of interview. For individuals who are appropriately qualified but yet to join the Specialist Register, a locum appointment may be feasible.
