Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Radiologists to join our Clinical Programme Group based in Bangor, North Wales. We are a progressive, clinically led organisation and the Health Board is the largest in Wales.  Whole time, part time or job share applications are invited. Consideration will be given to those applicants, wishing to work more than a standard 10 session job plan, with the potential for additional planned / responsibility sessions  to be negotiated.

We are seeking enthusiastic Radiologists to share in the general workload of the department. Applicants will be encouraged to develop a special interest with preference given to experience in ENT, head and neck, musculoskeletal and oncology imaging. It is expected that the successful applicants would also contribute to the ongoing modernisation of Radiology within the Health Board. 

North Wales is an area of outstanding natural beauty and offers a myriad of opportunities for outside leisure interests such as sailing from Deganwy, climbing and walking in Snowdonia or Mountain biking in Llandegla. It offers excellent recreational facilities for families and access to higher and further education. In addition, there are excellent residential areas with affordable housing and valued state and independent schools.  North Wales enjoys excellent road and rail links to Chester, Merseyside and Manchester with air links to Cardiff and Belfast.  You will work closely with the other tertiary centres in Cardiff, Liverpool and Manchester and have close links with Bangor University.

The appointed candidates will be expected to participate actively in the teaching of Undergraduates and Postgraduates.  Undergraduate training will contribute to the educational programme of the North Wales Clinical School of Medicine.   There are opportunities for Research and Teaching with the University of Wales, Bangor. The department is accredited by the Royal College of Radiologists for SpR training in Radiology.  The training programme is an important development across the Health Board, linked to academic and specialist training currently provided by the Mersey Deanery.
