We are looking for a highly motivated registered nurse with experience looking after trauma and/or orthopaedic patients.

The trauma coordinator will be a highly organised individual who would  be able to work within a large orthopaedic team, with an ethos of early discharge, admission avoidance and alternative pathways.

The successful candidate will be pivotal in streamlining  theatre utilisation, and  assisting  with expediting referrals between consultant colleagues

One of the key roles of the job will be to  help avoid unnecessary elective cancellations, thus  improving  the patient experience which will  reduce complaints and concerns

The trauma coordinator will improve tertiary referrals out of YG (eg. Stoke, Liverpool, Oswestry) and assist with early repatriation. They would also assist  inter hospital specialty referrals eg medicine, ITU, radiology etc

The trauma coordinator should have excellent communication skills, which are an essential criteria for the role as they will link in with orthogeriatrics, social services and  community services.


The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
