The North Wales Adolescent Service (NWAS) Inpatient ward is based in a purpose built unit in Abergele, North Wales.  NWAS consists of a 12 bedded generic ward with a newly developed Intensive Community Support Team working alongside.

A vacancy exists for 1.0 WTE Senior Staff Nurses who are interested in working with adolescents in an Inpatient setting. You will be joining a well established nursing and multi-disciplinary team, and have an active role in the clinical management of all young people, through group and individual work.

A period of preceptorship and regular clinical supervision will be provided.  The NWAS strives to provide opportunities for the development and further training of all staff, and regular in-house and external training are supported.

We are committed to recruiting, developing and retaining staff within the CAMHS Inpatient Service.

Knowledge and demonstration of the understanding of difficulties facing adolescents today, and an awareness of adolescent psychiatric problems that may be encountered will be required.

Knowledge of Child Protection procedures are paramount, as are qualities relating to caring, resilience and excellent communication.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
