Do you want to work where you would love to live and be a part of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board? We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Locum Consultant (with special interest in hip and knee Arthroplasty) to work in our busy Trauma & Orthopaedic Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital in North Wales. The post reflects the changing needs of our patients and will deliver the care that really makes a difference to our local communities, and we want you to help us shape and deliver it.
The successful candidates will form part of an Orthopaedic Consultant Team of 12 Consultant Surgeons in Wrexham Maelor Hospital within the North Wales Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and will partake in the trauma rota. We have specialists in Hand, Shoulder, Elbow & Foot surgery as well as Knee & Hip replacement surgery. The department is fortunate to have 4 Orthopaedic theatres which all give access to laminar flow and also one of these being a trauma theatre. We also have close connections with ‘Robert Jones Agnes Hunt Hospital’ in Gobowen, Shropshire, Walton Centre in Liverpool and Royal Stoke Hospital.
The successful candidates will be available to start with immediate effect. The post is integral to the functioning of all elements of the service which it prides itself on excellent clinical outcomes and patient care. We are looking for candidates that can make an immediate contribution to the functioning of the service in Wrexham and the right candidates will be fully supported to enable this. In conjunction with the existing Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeons and hard working, highly motivated dedicated Orthopaedic team of medical and nursing staff, the successful appointee will be expected to provide a high quality, modern service in a rapidly developing unit.
This post is a 9 month contract.
